How small and medium-sized enterprises enter Industry 4.0

It is not so much how traditional industries embrace Industry 4.0 as how traditional manufacturing enterprises transform and upgrade.

At present, most traditional enterprises in China are between Industry 2.0 and Industry 3.0. Only a few large manufacturing enterprises, such as Haier and Foxconn, have implemented the Industry 4.0 process, such as Haier's Internet factory, Foxconn's robot workshop transformation, robot design, production and export. The premise is that both enterprises have the opportunity to realize Industry 4.0. Haier is related to the global integrated production and sales realized more than ten years ago, and a large number of advanced production technologies abroad have been introduced in due time; Foxconn has been OEM for well-known foreign enterprises such as Apple for more than ten years. The installation of some precision components requires the latest technology, which can be regarded as a last resort. In the cooperation with foreign enterprises, Foxconn is forced to upgrade its production equipment.

In terms of products, in addition to the highly integrated circuit boards and other electronic equipment, the domestic market currently has little demand for the production of Industry 4.0 standard. However, in the face of the increasing cost of many links such as manpower, management, warehousing and logistics, the majority of enterprises still have a large demand for transformation and upgrading. For example, although Wahaha is a food production enterprise, most of its production workshops have achieved robot operations. Except that large enterprises have large funds to match the Industry 4.0 assembly line, it is difficult for small and medium-sized enterprises to do this at present. This requires a high degree of informatization and digitalization of the enterprise, and requires that the employees in the workshop have sufficient knowledge reserves and operational capabilities. Many domestic manufacturers have imported automatic production equipment from abroad, and have transformed themselves into semi-automatic equipment for various reasons.

However, if these traditional enterprises achieve Industry 4.0 sooner or later, they will be eliminated in the new industrial era because of low production efficiency and a large number of pollution. How should it be implemented?

First of all, we should have a clear understanding of our own development situation. If it is really due to pollution, low efficiency and other reasons that they are faced with being eliminated, we need to find ways to transform the production facilities and discard the original inefficient part of pollution. We can consider the standard of Industry 4.0. If it can not be achieved, it can be achieved part by part.

Secondly, if your workshop is upgrading without development, you can outsource production to a production enterprise with Industry 4.0 standards. This also means that your enterprise will move down the industrial chain and become an operator rather than a manufacturer.

Third, subvert the original production mode. The production equipment has also been innovated to completely conform to the production mode of Industry 4.0, such as intelligent hardware.
